WORD WISE
This series, intended for ages of 7-13 (depending on ability), was born simply out of personal teaching experiences. Children always look forward to the part of the lesson where they actually get to do something, after having patiently listened...and if the 'doing' is enjoyable it goes a long way towards making a lasting impression on the memory!
There are seven or eight different types of puzzles and challenges used, such as crosswords, wordsearches, or number codes, which are designed to keep children thinking a little more carefully about the Bible teaching.
Experience has also suggested that while they often have knowledge of some story details for a good variety of Biblical characters children can rarely arrange the characters chronologically, or see anything of doctrinal significance running through the narratives.
God's Amazing Book could be described as a quick 'walk' from Genesis through to Revelation, while sketching an overview of the Gospel message along the way.
Word Wise vol 2, is in the final stages. It's basically a closer look at the physical aspects of our world eg. a spherical earth, an earth which 'hangs upon nothing', the water cycle etc., which have turned out to be just as God had already described in the Bible!
