Biblical Books for Children

Preparing to draw can often be fun.  Being well acquainted with the subject is vital and usually makes the difference between a lively drawing, and one that ends up in the dust-bin.  I've learned from experience that it's important to get out with a camera and gather some helpful reference material.

Last summer, when exploring with my daughter in Co. Sligo, we discovered a Donkey Sanctuary.  We were discussing the varying characters of the inmates with some amusement, when I suddenly recognised an opportunity too good to miss...

The beautiful scenery was quickly forgotten as I tried to learn a little more about the shape of a donkey's face...

... a donkey's nostrils...

...and those amazing whiskers!

Even simple photographs like these are invaluable later, when, faced with an empty white page, one is trying to imagine a donkey pose that children will enjoy.

I want to thank my longsuffering family members for all their patience.

I often contemplate the following verse...

Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established... Proverbs 16:3
